My Favorite Non-Toxic Skincare

My Favorite Non-Toxic Skincare

I have a few favorite non-toxic skincare products that I turn to again and again. I love these products because they are chemical-free, high-performance, and feel luxurious. Sometimes my skin needs different support depending on the season. Even when I change up the products, these brands are usually in my rotation. They utilize high-quality, clean ingredients that deliver results.

Why Non-Toxic Skincare?

Since 2012, I’ve been using non-toxic skincare. I was chronically ill with Lyme disease and had detoxed my entire life to support my healing. Once I learned that conventional lipsticks can contain lead, and most cosmetics contain endocrine-disrupting parabens, I knew I had to make a change.

Not only are these products better for our health, but they are also better for the environment. By choosing clean skincare, you are buying products with stricter guidelines, and reducing your exposure to potentially harmful chemicals.

I’m also a nursing mother, and I am mindful of what personal products I apply to my body. You can never be too sure of what makes it into your milk.

For those reasons, I stick to the more natural skincare brands.

The Results of My Clean Skincare Regimen

Making the switch was one of the best decisions I ever made. Before discovering clean skincare, my face was always a mess. I thought I had terrible skin. Turns out, I had sensitive skin. Once I began using chemical-free products, my skin became healthier. I experienced less irritation and breakouts, and my chronically dry skin began to feel hydrated! It was a miracle.

Favorite Non-Toxic Skincare Products

At a minimum, my skincare routine includes a face wash and moisturizer. When I have time, I do either a mask or an exfoliator, followed by a serum, and mineral sunscreen.

Here are some of my favorite non-toxic skincare products:

Osea Ocean Cleansing Milk

This Osea face wash is fragrance-free, gentle, and hydrating. Undaria Seaweed is a key ingredient containing amino acids and antioxidants. It melts away makeup and is perfect for my sensitive, dry skin. It’s also reasonably priced at $54.

Doctor Rogers Face Moisturizer

Doctor Rogers Essential Face Cream is a super hydrating moisturizer that doesn’t feel greasy. This is a dermatologist-created brand that is plant-based, vegan, non-toxic, and biodegradable. This high-performance moisturizer includes hydrating ingredients like squalane, shea butter, and coconut. It’s also another reasonably priced product at $78.

Tata Harper SUPERKIND Bio-Barrier Serum

Okay, this one is an investment but very light and moisturizing. My skin always feels amazing after I apply this Bio-Barrier Serum by Tata Harper. It’s a fragrance-free, anti-aging serum made with a volcanic post-biotic complex and plant ceramides to support your skin barrier. Price: $146.

May Lindstrom Exfoliator

Using May Lindstrom’s Clean Dirt Exfoliator is the quickest way to get a beautiful glow without chemicals or going to get a facial. Made with certified organic ingredients, warming spices like cinnamon and ginger, a mix of clays, and vitamin C. Apply to your skin for 2-3 minutes and then wash off to the smoothest, brightest skin. It’s truly a miracle worker. It costs $75 but lasts a few months.

May Lindstrom “The Problem Solver” Mud Mask

If you have 25-30 minutes to spare then “The Problem Solver” mud mask is the way to go. Similarly to the exfoliator, this product is made with certified organic ingredients including clays, charcoal, and sea salts. I love rotating this with the Clean Dirt Exfoliator. It helps to brighten your skin and diminish blemishes. My skin looked significantly clearer with one use. This mask costs $110 but lasts a few months.

Also, love this $12 facial bowl I bought off Amazon to mix the May Lindstrom exfoliator and masks.

Where to buy non-toxic skincare?

Credo Beauty, also known as the Sephora of “clean beauty,” carries many of these brands and more. You can find the Osea face wash, Dr. Rogers moisturizer, and Tata Harper Bio-Barrier Serum at Credo. Use code: CLEAN10 for 10% off.

May Lindstrom’s products are sold directly through her website. She has a sampler pack called “The Chocolate Box” to try before you purchase the full size. Her products are an investment so trying them out first is the way to go. You won’t be disappointed.

Final Thoughts on my Favorite Non-Toxic Skincare

These non-toxic skincare products are made using high-quality, natural ingredients, that deliver results. The products I use are at mixed price points. I try to find more affordable clean skincare (ideally under $100) for the items I am constantly replacing like moisturizer. From there, I will splurge on high-impact masks and exfoliators to brighten and smooth my skin. Hey, it’s cheaper than Botox.

My skin has been the healthiest ever since making the switch. I used to rely on prescription creams, face washes, and antibiotics to keep my skin clear. Little did I know, I was destroying my skin’s microbiome in the process. Now my skin is healthy without the use of harsh chemicals.
