6 Healthier Candy Options

Are you interested in healthier candy options? Last week, I was in Target prepping for Easter. I grabbed a bag of marshmallow peeps, took one look at the ingredients, and quickly put them back. Have you ever read the ingredients on a bag of peeps? They include sugar, corn syrup, gelatin, and yellow #5.

I don’t scrutinize every little thing my family eats, but I do try to positively influence what they eat regularly. This includes avoiding an overload of processed foods on the holidays. My goal is to support their immune and gut health through a healthy diet. Unfortunately, conventional candy wreaks havoc.

Thankfully, there are a few brands making candy and snacks healthier. Many of these brands are avoiding artificial dyes, flavorings, corn syrup, and unhealthy preservatives. They are also making certain snacks allergen-friendly which are great for packing in school lunches.

I was happy to find a few great snack options for easter baskets including bunny-shaped and spring-colored treats. Here are the healthy candy and snack options I found.

5 Healthier Candy Options

1. Unreal Candy

I’m a big fan of this UNREAL candy company. They’ve recreated some of the popular candies we are used to like Reese’s peanut butter cups and Almond Joy’s using simpler ingredients. They opt for organic ingredients and never use corn syrup or sugar alcohols. Here is their website for a complete list of products.

These healthier candy options help to make living a balanced life a little sweeter, and guilt-free. It’s nice to have a few special snacks that don’t include toxic dyes and artificial flavorings.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where we need to go out of our way to source healthier snacks. Thankfully, these brands are raising the bar on what we feed ourselves and kids.
